Hyper-connected information was supposed to make sense out of the mountains of data generated by modern science. When it finally emerged into the world as hypertext and the Web, it did manufacture meaning. But not sense. Not facts, per se. Connecting everything and everyone into a single network generated its own meaning, has its own logic.
